The ‘Founders Fireside’

Recently EP co-hosted an Entrepreneurial Success Stories event where two entrepreneurs showcased and shared their journeys. Dubbed ‘Founders Fireside’ the evening was created with partner-led lawyers Joelson.

The stimulating session included Huib van Bockel, Founder of Tenzing Natural Energy and Eric Partaker, Founder of Chilango. Both spoke with honesty and openness to a room full of industry and entrepreneurs.

Innovation is at an all-time importance level. With businesses operating in interesting times, it is becoming harder for younger companies to reach market, but these new ideas can improve and enhance the customer experience. EP act as the bridge between the two worlds.

Huib van Bockel, Founder of Tenzing shared his journey of launching the natural energy drink in 2016 and how the adventure has been filled with some lows and a lot of highs. Huib launched his career at Unilever before moving to MTV Networks and then led marketing for Red Bull in Europe. Over eight years he was part of the transition as they went from energy drink business to the media business it is today.

Huib shared how his product is made from six natural ingredients, is only 55 calories and is now available in over 300 stores in the UK. It was on a journey to find quality ingredients that Huib discovered the energising brew of the Himalayan Sherpa’s. This inspired their recipe and name - chosen in honour of the late Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, one of the first two men to summit Mt. Everest.

Eric Partaker, Founder of Chilango told the story of how he launched the business because he couldn't find good Mexican food in London. Today its known as the most successful crowdfunded restaurant chain in the world, but it hasn't been easy for Eric. He shared the lows and the highs of the business and how he uses his experiences from his time at McKinsey & Company and also Skype to continue to grow.

The word at the heart of Chilango for Eric is 'Vibrancy'. Today over 25,000 people a week visit the restaurants and enjoy burritos, tacos, nachos, and salads.

EP works with many entrepreneurial concepts that range from food and beverage products to restaurant concepts to technological innovation.
