London Unites for Grenfell Towers

Hospitality Industry comes together to support the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire

On Tuesday evening, many of London’s Hospitality leaders came together to raise over £100k in support of the victims from Grenfell Tower in a charity dinner at The London Novotel West.

The evening was organised by the West London Hotel Managers Association in partnership with the Kensington Chamber of Commerce, FR Events, BITA and other like-minded organisations.

General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Kensington, Ed Bracken, Rob Flinter – General Manager of Park Plaza London Riverbank, Michael Sloan – General Manager of Novotel London West and Jodie Abrahams, CEO of FR events were all instrumental in the organising the evening.

All elements of the entire event were donated free of charge and considering that the dinner was organised within a four week period, it was impressive that over 500 guests attended which really does illustrate how the industry can play a pivotal and positive role within the community at large.

The evening included musician Marcus Mumford speaking to one of the victims.

The dinner was inspired by those Hospitality employees that lived within the Tower and their loss and hardship inspired the Hoteliers to come together and make a difference. A guest at the event described the proceedings as “heart-warming and inspirational”. Another commented “ It just shows what can be achieved. I think all those here tonight leave believing that the efforts will make a difference.”
